About the conference

The Journalism Education Association and National Scholastic Press Association have been teaming up each spring for more than 40 years to put on the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention. Our partnership helps bring together more than 4,500 high school student journalists and their advisers to experience powerful keynote speakers, more than 300 breakout sessions, on-site critiques and contests and the latest trends, services and resources at the convention trade show.

Who attends

Typically as many as 4,500 high school student journalists working for their newspapers, yearbooks, newsmagazines, literary magazines, broadcast programs and online news sites. As many as 800 publication advisers are also represented at the annual event. Trade show vendors include yearbook publishing companies, software companies, government agencies, colleges and universities, journalism-related nonprofits and movie studios.

Why sponsor?

Our conventions are designed to provide the type of customer engagement you’re looking for. If you’re looking to have a large presence at the convention we offer a variety of sponsorships to help you get the most for your money, combining sponsoring, exhibiting and advertising all into one. If you want to meet your clients or prospective clients face-to-face, exhibiting at the trade show may be your best bet. Or, if you’re interested in a hands-off approach, we have print advertising options in the registration booklet, convention program or adviser tote bag insert. New this year you also have the ability to promote your organization by video promotion before general sessions, when the majority of attendees are in attendance.
